Despite continued production and financing troubles, U2‘s Spider-Manmusical continues to show signs of life. The New York Post is reporting that the show is now scheduled to enter previews in October and is slated for a November opening on Broadway.
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with music from Bono and the Edge, also has a new villian. Patrick Page will play the Green Goblin, replacing Alan Cumming, who left the show last month. Page played the Grinch in the Broadway production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Reeve Carney is still set to play the web-slinger, but the role of his love interest Mary Jane remains unfilled. Rachel Wood was originally cast in the role, but stepped aside as delays mounted. The show’s producer auditioned actresses last week, the Post said.
